Old Town Commons Condominium

Old Town Commons Condominium uses colonial architecture but has contemporary interiors. It is a combination of taller multifamily condo buildings as well as three- and four-story townhomes. There are 231 total units, consisting of 81 townhouses and 150 condominium units. The project was built to LEED environmental standards. There is private reserved parking with lockable storage, and each unit has a Juliet balcony. It was a public/private partnership between the developer EYA and the Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority (ARHA). The development transformed an under-performing public housing site in Alexandria. The area has a rich heritage as part of Alexandria’s African American community. After the Civil War the area became a haven for former slaves and the African American population was close to 90%. By the 1950s the area was then known then as Uptown, and was a vibrant center of African American life.

Reagan National airport is very close. And there is a bus stop on the corner. You can walk to Canal Center Plaza, the Potomac River, numerous restaurants, numerous parks such as Montgomery Park, Charles Houston Recreation Center, Harris Teeter grocery, gas stations are nearby, the UPS Store, and much more.
